EXPLORING NEW PERSPECTIVES THROUGH INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH

With a focus on ancient African cultural knowledge explored through multi-artforms, our research investigates metaphysical systems focusing on embodied and immersive 'ways of knowing' and how these generate new perspectives on how we understand ourselves and the world around us through the arts. Our research is conducted via practice-based inquiry and represented via multi-artforms where creative works become ‘sites of knowledge’.

We explore ideas, experiences, and artistic practices, that integrate innovative thinking in a practice-based model, promoting new ways of working in interdisciplinary arts.

In 2020 the initial research underpinning 13:12 was presented by Lamine Sonko at IFAN (Institut Fondamental d'Afrique Noire) a cultural and scientific research institute at the University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar. The research explored how traditional sabar rhythms as embodied practice informs, and are connected to understandings of systems of cosmology, philosophy and the sciences.
